About  Jemila Abubakar;

Jemila H.A. Abubakar was born in the early hours of Wednesday 19th of January 1977 at Olalomi hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State to Professor Halidu and Victoria Abubakar. She was an avid reader from early on. She began her education at Mrs. Mortah's Preparatory school, then continued her primary education at Staff School Kongo, Zaria. She completed her first year of secondary school in Demonstration Secondary School A.B.U. Zaria, before becoming a member of the pioneer set of Federal Girls Government College graduating in 1994.

She studied Biochemistry at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. While serving (NYSC) in Edo state in 2004 she was involved in a vehicle accident that resulted in paraplegia, and her subsequent use of a wheelchair. But this unfortunate turn of events did not dampen her zeal and enthusiasm for life.

In 2013, she continued with her vision to make the world healthier and happier by volunteering at the Department of Psychiatry, University College Hospital Ibadan. She became part of a volunteer program they had with the Remand Home at Ijokodo, Polytechnic road Ibadan. She went above and beyond the call of duty to help the children at the home as she did in all of her endeavors.

She went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health...graduating top of her class.

Jemi was also a volunteer and the pioneer program manager for Asido Foundation and coordinated several innovative projects such as a helpline for persons with emotional challenges. She was always an excellent cheer leader and counselling therapist.

Jemila was a loving Daughter, Wonderful Sister, Impeccable Friend and Sweet Aunty. And she was outstanding in her responsibilities at work, with the Remand Home, with the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as with the Asido Foundation.

She lived a meaningful life of impact and touched lives positively all through her life.
